2015 Color Trends

The 2015 colors of the year have been announced!

The Pantone color of the year is “Marsala.” This color is an earthy wine red which can be a grounded statement color when used on its own, or a strong accent color when paired with other colors. It’s a warm color with red-brown roots that emanates a natural earthiness. Some pairings include amber, umber and turquoise and teal tones.

You will see the “Marsala” color repeated throughout home décor, tabletop, fashion, cosmetics and more in 2015.

The Benjamin Moore 2015 color of the year is “Guilford Green.” This color is a pretty silvery green that works well with just about everything. Some of the suggested palettes from Benjamin Moore that incorporate Guilford Green are geared towards any style – from traditional to a beach theme to romantic. This green can be a great base almost as a neutral to many other accent colors, such as navy, deep plum, or salmon.

Sherwin Williams announced its color of the year as “Coral Reef.” It’s an uplifting hue that ties in red, orange and pink, and can work in almost any space. The color marketing department of the company selected this color based on their expectations that design will be more cheerful in the coming year. This color is also very versatile which allows it to be used in a variety of design styles, from contemporary to traditional or cottage. This color can be a dramatic accent in a black and white room, or as an accent wall in a cozy room.
