Benjamin Moore 2018 Color of the Year

Benjamin Moore has selected Caliente, AF-290, a strong, bold color that can make a room pop with clean, white trim. Red is powerful, hot and provocative.  Red also is an appetite stimulant and is a popular color for a dining room or kitchen.  Benjamin Moore’s 2018 color palette has a few dramatic colors but focuses more on neutrals than Sherwin Williams.  Red and gold has long been a popular traditional palette, or red and yellow. Blues, greens or blacks can provide an alternative look.

Fall Trends – 2014

So what are some of the new trends now that the fall season is here?

Abstract designs such as swirled motifs, geometrics, and blurred borders can be seen on rugs, artwork, and upholstery fabrics.

A Moroccan feel can be seen on elaborate wood trays, a classic arch in antiqued gold leaf, and Moroccan tile patterning.

Brass and white was a trend I noticed on tables and lighting especially at the New York Design Center this week.   Gray is still a very popular neutral, as you can see from this elegant setting at Century Furniture in NY.

Red seems to be emerging again and is a fun touch on an accent piece in a room.

Bright pink, yellow and purple can be fun and unexpected on a corner chair, settee or desk.

Linen continues to be a popular choice for drapery material.

Upholstered beds allow you to express your personal style, as seen here from Century Furniture.

Remember that when you decorate your own home, it’s about your style, your personality and what makes you feel good.gray sofa uphol bed
